Rio-lëqekano Sêdè

Rio-lëqekano Sêdè (/ˈrio/ /ˌlëqeˈkano/ [green] [singer]) is a subtropical Large City located in the Nêndënkîte Zone of the Engineer's Guild.

The name Rio-lëqekano Sêdè is derived from the Sylvin language, as Rio-lëqekano Sêdè was founded by Helalia, who was culturaly Iron Elf.

Climate

Rio-lëqekano Sêdè has a yearly average temperature of 25°C (77°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 27°C (80°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 23°C (73°F). Overview

Rio-lëqekano Sêdè was founded durring the late 14th century in summer of the year 1277, by Helalia. The establishment of Rio-lëqekano Sêdè was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Helalia electing to pay people to resettle in Rio-lëqekano Sêdè.

Rio-lëqekano Sêdè was built using the conventions of Iron Elf durring the late 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Rio-lëqekano Sêdè is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Rio-lëqekano Sêdè is buildings are arranged arround a network of premissive split-log ties streets which form a diamond shaped grid, where each diamond verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller diamond has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The city is defended by arcane means. It's hard to spot at first, but there's a tell tell shimmer in the air arround Rio-lëqekano Sêdè, and you can spot the ocasional warding glyph carved into a rock or tree all arround town. These mystical defences are ancient, unknowable, and unassailable by current means... Assuming everything is in working order. Otherwise, the wards are little more than a deathtrap. Rio-lëqekano Sêdè's Relic of the World That Was has sufferd soem light damage, reducing its function a little in some spots, but could almsot certainly preform as expected... Though some of the worse spots could lead to the loss of defenders lives if attackers identified the weaknesses ahead of time.

Rio-lëqekano Sêdè seems to be abandoned at first. There are people present, working their trades and going about their business like any community, it’s just they are absurdly quiet. Just as you start to think there might be trouble, you see most of them are smiling, quietly exchanging words with a friend, or simply enjoying the day as they work. It reminds you of an evening at home as everyone dined, having run out of things to talk about and embraced the savory meal before them.

Cultural Notes

Rio-lëqekano Sêdè's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used embraces individualism and experimentation. It emerged as a movement against traditional, classical styles and sought to make buildings dynamic and fun while breaking the rules. The style incorporated elements of previous architectural styles in exaggerated and whimsical ways. Traditional, conservative leanings were void in this era, with most scholars of architecture agreeing it was a time of “anything goes.”.
